BY THE NUMBERS

We are a Certified B Corporation and a member of the Fair Trade Federation, with more than ten years in business. Named by Remake as one of 10 brands ‘leading the way’ with our sustainability efforts in the fashion industry, we have always advocated for a responsible approach to design and production.

Here’s how we honor our commitments as a socially and environmentally conscious brand.

Powered by women

WOMEN-LED

Our workforce is predominantly female, with women dominating every aspect of our business. This puts us in a unique position and influences everything we do. We are delighted to be able to create economic opportunities for women, to bolster mothers with supportive maternity leave and flexible working hours, and to offer our employees a work environment that is considerate and respectful.

COMMUNITY-DRIVEN

We work with 10 artisan partners and 520 artisans around the world and believe in the preservation of craft in local communities.

A global community

Our lasting relationships with our artisan partners and commitment to their communities goes beyond business: we are deeply invested in every person, place and provenance. From HQ outwards, our global community celebrates all cultures and respects differences in lived experience.

Our strength is our diversity

We are proud to promote inclusivity and diversity at every level of our business. 67% of our leadership team and 33% of our board members are from underrepresented social groups. We offer everyone living wages, zero-tolerance for discrimination and harassment, and a respectful workplace, whether they are employed directly by us or our artisan partners.

A respectful workplace

We give 1% of our sales back to organizations that invest in the communities we call home. Projects we are proud to support include: Women's Fund at the Austin Community Foundation, which supports the economic security of women in Central Texas; the SAFE Alliance, which serves survivors of abuse and domestic violence in Austin; and local and national organizations that support Black Lives Matter including NAACP, Reclaim the Block, and the African American Youth Harvest Foundation.

FOOTPRINT-CONSCIOUS

Our approach to responsible production utilizes handcraft techniques that inherently prioritize locally-sourced, natural materials. Sustainable by nature, the materials we use in our designs - from leather to semi-precious stones, cotton and sisal - are derived from plant or animal fibres and are biodegradable.

In the last year, 250,000 remnant pieces of leather were upcycled to create new handbags and we use upcycled brass and glass in our jewelry and homeware collections. All of our pieces are made in studios and nearly everything is handcrafted, which requires time and great skill. Designed and made to last, we believe less is more and favor longevity over trends. Many of our most-loved pieces were part of our original collection and are still bestsellers today.
